St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino Grand Parade Rules & Regulations – 2027
Parade Lineup: Saturday, June 19, 2027, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Entries wishing to be judged must be in position no later than 9:00 a.m.
1. FLOATS
- All float vehicles must comply with the City of Cranbrook Streets, Traffic & Parking Bylaw 4044, unless special written permission has been granted.
- No vehicle may exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight, dimensions, axle load, or tire load limits outlined in the Commercial Transportation Act.
- Parade entrants and float drivers/operators are responsible for ensuring their float can safely navigate the entire parade route, including overhead clearances, turning radii, and all safety considerations.
2. DECORATIONS
- All vehicles used in float construction—including trucks, tractors, and cars—must be fully decorated or disguised.
- Undecorated commercial vehicles will not be permitted to participate.
- Decorations must not obstruct the safe operation or visibility of the float or vehicle.
3. RESTRICTIONS
a. No throwing of candy, merchandise, or any items from floats or vehicles, in accordance with City by-law.
- Walkers may hand items directly to spectators.
- No water throwing, water guns, or similar devices are allowed.
- Parade Supervisors may remove any entry violating this rule.
b. Only individuals designated by the parade entry sponsor may participate.
- Groups of fans/supporters walking together do not qualify as an entry.
c. No alcohol is permitted on floats, in vehicles, or on any participant. Anyone suspected of being under the influence will be removed from the parade.
d. No fundraising is allowed from floats during the parade unless prior approval has been granted by the Spirit of the Rockies Society.
e. Entries must not impede parade flow by stopping for advertising, performances, or other activities.
f. The Spirit of the Rockies Grand Parade is a family-friendly event for spectators of all ages.
- Entries must not display material that is offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate.
g. No smoking on or near floats.
- A working fire extinguisher is strongly recommended.
- Drivers must have proper visibility and ventilation, and all vehicles must be in sound mechanical condition.
- Commercial vehicles must meet all regulatory safety requirements.
4. INSURANCE
- Each parade entry and participant is responsible for carrying appropriate insurance coverage.
- All participants agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend the Spirit of the Rockies Society, its Directors, and members against any claims, actions, or liabilities arising from their participation.
- Cyclists, skateboarders, and motorcyclists must wear helmets at all times.
5. Entries
- Each parade entry is only one vehicle (including a truck and trailer) or one group walking etc.
PARADE ELIGIBILITY The Spirit of the Rockies Society reserves the right to refuse any parade entry that, in its sole discretion, is deemed controversial, unlawful, offensive, or inconsistent with the festival’s standards, theme, quality, or purpose.
Entries advocating for or against political views or controversial social issues will not be permitted.
